Profile S devices announce themselves over WS-Discovery on UDP 3702, then expose RTSP URIs through the GetStreamUri SOAP method. FI Tech site surveys validate Profile S conformance before recommending a brownfield CCTV reuse plan — non-conformant cameras force either firmware upgrades or replacement. Profile S is sufficient for most analytics workloads but lacks the H.265, on-camera storage, and metadata streams that Profile T adds.
