Dashboard Navigation

Understanding the dashboard interface helps you quickly access the information you need.

Main Navigation

The sidebar provides access to main sections: Dashboard, Analytics, Devices, Reports, and Settings. Dashboard shows your configured overview panels. Analytics provides deep-dive tools for historical data. Devices lists all connected sources with status indicators.

Dashboard Switching

Multiple dashboards can be created for different use cases. Operations dashboard shows real-time status and alerts. Management dashboard focuses on KPIs and trends. Switch between dashboards using the dropdown in the header. Pin frequently used dashboards for quick access.

Time Range Selection

Global time range selector affects all dashboard widgets. Quick selections include Last Hour, Today, Last 7 Days, and custom ranges. Time zone setting ensures consistent interpretation across users. Compare current period with previous periods using the comparison toggle.

Widget Types

Various widget types display data in formats suited to different analysis needs.

Value Widgets

Single-value widgets display current readings or aggregations. Configure thresholds for color-coded status indication. Sparklines show recent trend within compact display. Use for KPIs and key metrics requiring immediate visibility.

Chart Widgets

Line charts show trends over time for one or multiple metrics. Bar charts compare values across categories or time periods. Pie charts display proportional distribution of categories. Area charts emphasize cumulative values over time.

Table Widgets

Data tables present detailed records with sorting and filtering. Configure visible columns and default sort order. Enable drill-down to individual record details. Export table data to CSV for external analysis.

Map Widgets

Geographic maps plot device locations and readings. Heat maps show intensity distribution across areas. Click markers for device details and recent data. Filter map display by device type or status.

Key Metrics

Understanding standard metrics helps you monitor system health and operational performance.

Device Health Metrics

Online/Offline status shows connectivity state. Battery level indicates power status for wireless devices. Signal strength helps identify connectivity issues. Last seen timestamp flags potentially failed devices.

Operational Metrics

Uptime percentage tracks system reliability. Alert frequency indicates operational issues. Response time measures from detection to acknowledgment. Mean time to resolution tracks issue handling efficiency.

Performance Metrics

Data throughput measures information flow through system. Processing latency tracks analysis pipeline performance. Storage utilization monitors capacity consumption. Query response time indicates dashboard performance.

Dashboard Customization

Customize dashboards to focus on metrics most relevant to your role and responsibilities.

Widget Configuration

Click edit icon to configure individual widgets. Select data sources and metrics to display. Configure visualization options (colors, scales, legends). Set refresh intervals appropriate for data volatility.

Layout Management

Drag widgets to rearrange dashboard layout. Resize widgets by dragging corners or edges. Create rows and columns for organized presentation. Save layouts for different display scenarios.

Sharing and Permissions

Share dashboards with team members or groups. Set view-only or edit permissions per user. Create public links for stakeholder access. Schedule automated dashboard emails.

Alert Management

The dashboard provides central alert visibility and management.

Alert Overview

Alert summary widget shows active alerts by severity. Click through to full alert list with filtering options. Acknowledge alerts to indicate awareness and ownership. Add notes documenting investigation and resolution steps.

Alert Configuration
